A Two-Day Capacity-Strengthening Workshop for Inter-Faith Stakeholders from the Zonkwa and Ayagan Communities in Zangon Kataf LGA, Kaduna State.

RURCON conducted a two-day capacity-strengthening workshop for interfaith stakeholders from the Zonkwa and Ayagan communities in Zangon kataf LGA, Kaduna State. The event took place on Monday, 10th to Tuesday, 11th of February 2025, at Kamyin Hotel Zonkwa, Zangon kataf LGA, Kaduna state.

Workshop Objectives:

  • To contextualize conflict sensitivity.
  • To leverage community connectors and address dividers.
  • To establish an Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) network.
  • To ensure the long-term sustainability of the project.

The workshop provided an engaging platform for stakeholders to actively participate in discussions and planning. As a key outcome, participants successfully set up an EWER network for both communities, with a Terms of Reference (ToR) to be signed by the District Head. Additionally, action plans were developed by three key groups: Traditional/Religious Leaders, Women, and Youth.

39 stakeholders were in attendance. 12 Females (28%) and 28 Males (72%), 3 RURCON Staff, 2 facilitators, and 1 driver making a total of 45 persons in attendance. Thanks to Tearfund Nigeria/RURCON and the host communities for their commitment.
