RURCON conducted a two-day Refresh training workshop for interfaith Actors of Gidan Waya, Jema’a LGA, Kaduna state on Conflict sensitivity and EWER. The event took place on Wednesday 12th to Thursday 13th of February 2025 at Government Secondary school Gidan Waya, Jema’a LGA, Kaduna state.
Objectives:
- To contextualize conflict sensitivity,
- To leverage community connectors and address dividers,
- To establish an Early Warning and Early Response (EWER) network and to ensure the long-term sustainability of the project.
The workshop provided an engaging platform for stakeholders to actively participate in discussions and planning. Participants successfully set up EWER network, with a Terms of Reference (ToR) to be signed by the District Head. Additionally, action plans were developed by three key groups: Traditional/Religious Leaders, Women, and Youth.
37 stakeholders were in attendance.11 Females (30%) and 26 Males (70%), 3 RURCON Staff, 2 facilitators. Special thanks to Tearfund/RURCON & the host communities.
