The JISRA Interfaith EWER forums of Gidan Waya, conducted an advocacy visit to the Councilor and Chairman of Jema’a LGA Kaduna State on the 27 of March 2024. This visit was a follow-up to their training on Conflict Sensitivity and Early Warning Early Response (EWER). The objectives of the visit was to welcome and to register their interfaith EWER network forums.
During the visit, Explaining the purpose of the visit, Alh. Buhari Adamu Bashir J., congratulated the new administration for assumption of office and prayed for Divine guidance. He also added that the visit was to introduce the organization, Project and highlighted the achievements of JISRA to include fostering harmonious coexistence between different faiths, engendering tolerance, broadening the horizon of communities to understand and respect different cultures and practices and continues dialogues for resolution of crisis.
The secretary Danbala U. who is the Representative of the Chairman. Was glad to hear about this development and appreciate the community for their cooperation and also appreciate the Organisation and The Project and appeal for a second phase in another location. Due to the numerous testimonies from stakeholders and due to the peace been experienced in Gidan waya as a result of the coming of Jisra.
Notably, the visit was attended by 20 persons, including 16 males (80%) and 3 female(20%), as well as 1 staff members from Rurcon.
